HIGHLIGHT: AT’S SWITZER E911 TURBO PORSCHE

AT's Switzer E911 Porsche Turbo

Delivering more than 900 horsepower in a linear, controlled, and reliable fashion is what Switzer Performance and its E911 Porsche flex-fuel package of performance upgrades does- and it’s easy, sometimes, to get lost in the numbers. 950 peak HP. Over 800 lb-ft. of torque. Less than five seconds from 60-130 MPH. A quarter mile in about 9 seconds at nearly 150 miles per hour. 0-60 in less time than it takes most people to read this sentence.

Power and speed of that magnitude can be a little overwhelming, but any Switzer Performance E911 Porsche Turbo is going to be a similar sort of rocket ship. What they won’t all be, however, is as good-looking as the black-on-black machine you see here.

The car belongs to a customer we’ll identify as “AT”, who bought the 2007 Porsche Turbo with just 1100 miles on the odometer to replace his aging BMW M3. He wanted something with “a little more power” … and he certainly got that!

Newly-developed Switzer Performance intercoolers flow cold air to a pair of Switzer-specific turbocharges derived from Switzer’s 1000 hp SLEDGEHAMMER project car. Those big turbos breathe through Switzer’s high-flow intake plumbing and exhale through Switzer’s stainless-steel motorsports-style headers and high-flow exhaust system, ensuring that the E911 is able to breathe freely at triple-digit speeds. The car also uses the latest version of Switzer’s flex-fuel injection system, which uses an advanced stand-alone EMS to deliver a seamless transition between pump gas and E85 ethanol that doesn’t require a customer to sort through multiple engine maps and risk getting it wrong.

AT’s E911 Porsche puts its power to the ground through a set of Toyo R888 tires wrapped around 19′ HRE 597 Rs, with weight transfer optimized in part by the Porsche’s rear-engine layout and helped along a bit further with the use of H&R lowering springs.

AT plans to campaign his new Switzer E911 Porsche in a number of airstrip/standing mile events this year. Judging from the past performances of other Switzer Porsches in Texas and Moscow, we expect great things. Stay tuned for more!
