Switzer E900 GTR is All New for 2014

When Switzer Performance first introduced the E900 performance PKG for Nissan’s R35 GTR back in 2010, the Oberlin, Ohio-based company was really pushing the GTR’s performance envelope. “The first E900 was one of our first cars into the 9s,” recalls Neil Switzer. “It was E85 only, and was basically a fuel system upgrade and E85 map added to our existing P800 pump-gas PKG. The E900 made more power because we could run higher boost safely with the ethanol.” For 2014, however- all that changes.

Say hello to the new-for-2014 Switzer Performance E900 GTR.

Where the original E900 was fuel system upgrade to Switzer’s “bread and butter” P800 offering, the newly updated E900 “version 2” features all-new ball bearing turbochargers with what Switzer calls “instant response”. “There is no lag,” explains Neil. “The new E900 GTR turbos spool even quicker than the stock turbo GTRs that have been tuned to the edge on E85.”

In addition to spooling more quickly, the new Switzer Performance E900 GTR is also more powerful, delivering 920 wheel horsepower while revving all the way to 8000 RPM- that’s an improvement of almost 90 HP at the wheel compared to the last generation “900” packages from Switzer and the rest of the industry.

Improved power and speed are only part of what makes the new E900 PKG special, however. The previous E900s came with E85 tunes, E98 tunes, and pump gasoline tune files- but it was up to the client to keep track of their fuel and choose the appropriate tune. In this new version, Switzer’s upgraded fuel system works in concert with the GTR’s engine control module to work with E10 (pump gas), E100 (up to 100% ethanol), and everything in between.

The end result of the upgrades is a Switzer E900 GTR that feels even more civilized around town, requires less driver maintenance, and delivers throttle response just like a stock GTR … just, you know, twice as fast.
