Delivering on a 9-Sec. Promise

8 second Switzer GTR

When Switzer Performance introduced the world to the 1000 HP Ultimate Street Edition (USE) GTR Nissan, it made a promise. It promised to deliver a usable, practical, predictable hyper car that would run 9 second passes with authority on the way to a 200+ MPH top speed on Premium pump gasoline. The USE GTR was a unique and original thing back in 2012.

Two years on- and, despite others’ 1000 HP claims- the Switzer Performance Ultimate Street Edition remains a unique and original thing: the only high-horsepower tuner conversion that under-promises and over-delivers.

This video, below, shot last month during pre-delivery inspection, shows a customer’s USE GTR living up to that 9 second promise… by driving into the 8s. But don’t say that the USE GTR is an 8-second car. “We’re still calling the Ultimate an every day, 9-second car,” says Tym Switzer, head of Switzer Performance. “It’s nice to be able to point to results like this and show that, while most people would never push their cars that hard, I do think that for cars that promise to deliver 9-second passes, the 8-second runs vindicate that promise in a huge way. It just shows, in typical Switzer fashion, that we don’t need to tune our packages to the edge of reliability in order to deliver.”
