Switzer P800 GTR vs. Chilean Hillclimb

Switzer P800 GTR Chile

From airstrips in Miami and the American Midwest to the banzai side-by-side races of Europe and Moscow, at shootout after shootout, Switzer’s evergreen P800 pump-gas performance PKG for Nissan’s R35 GTR has proven itself to be the most flexible, most reliable bolt-on performance PKG money can buy. Still, it’s always fun to see where these 800 HP monsters will turn up next. This particular GTR, for example, turned up at a hillclimb event in the mountains of Chile … and promptly won the thing.

Even at the higher altitudes of Chile, the Switzer-specific ball-bearing turbochargers worked with the high-flow intake system to get the most out of the available oxygen, and powered the P800 GTR up the mountain quicker than the Porsche Turbos, Ferraris, Supras, and highly-tuned Mitsubishi Evos/Subaru WRXs that made up the event. High-dollar exotics were only part of the action, however. Also competing at the event were a number of race-prepped 1990s Hondas, a few MR2 turbos, and even an old Suzuki Swift/Chevy Sprint.
