New SS102 GTR Exhaust

Switzer SS120 GTR Performance Exhaust

When Switzer Performance introduced its SS90 performance exhaust system for the Nissan GTR back in 2012, the most powerful R35s anywhere were making 1300-1500 HP. “We’re way beyond that. We have several cars that are making a lot more than that, now,” explains Tym Switzer. “Beyond 1500 HP, the SS90 was starting to become a choke-point, which is what this new GTR exhaust system was built to address.”

Meet the SS102 GTR exhaust system, an all new high-performance exhaust that allows a 24% greater exhaust flow area than the SS90. That reduction in back pressure means Switzer’s new SS102 system is more than a match for the company’s more extreme 1750+ HP “Goliath” style engine builds - and that’s a big deal for Switzer. “We always try to engineer our components to not just meet our customers’ needs today, but in the future as well. We don’t believe customers should have to re-buy parts to build power, and the SS102 means they’ll be able to keep the same exhaust from 600 on up to 2000 HP.”

Despite the new system’s increased airflow, however, Switzer made an effort to ensure that the system is still quiet enough maintain the Switzer cars’ “Jekyll and Hyde” reputations. As such, the SS102 is meant to be an appropriate GTR exhaust for street-driven cars and for aggressive track use, as well. The focus on building a complete, high-quality product didn’t end there, though.

The new Switzer SS102 GTR exhaust is made of 100% mandrel-bent and TIG-welded stainless steel, with two 76mm (3″) pipes feeding into the 102mm (4″) mid-pipe and twin flow-through mufflers at the back. The SS102 ships with high-quality clamps, gaskets, and fasteners and is completed with a durable fine-wire finish to minimize the visual impact of regular road wear. The SS102′s exhaust tips, meanwhile, are embossed with the Switzer logo and finished in a black-chrome that resists the type of discoloration often seen on high-horsepower turbo cars.
