Goliath Hits 237 MPH at Sun Valley

Switzer Goliath

The last time we got cameras on one of our 1500+ WHP Goliath cars, it was blasting across the finish line at Milan Dragway at more 180 MPH. Our first Goliath GTR became the fastest GTR in the world when it cracked 250 MPH at the Moscow Unlimited, as well, proving that the package delivered everything its massive dyno numbers promised it could.

It’s one thing to set a time and speed on a closed, controlled, and sticky racetrack, though. It’s another thing entirely to run at sustained triple-digit speeds on public roads – which makes the 237.1 MPH run shown in Stradman’s video, below, really something special.

The car shown here started life as an early 2015 Nissan GTR, and was prepped by the crew here in Oberlin, Ohio earlier this spring. The run, itself, was made as part of the Sun Valley Road Rally, which closes off sections of low-traffic highway in order to allow exotic sports cars to really stretch their legs and draw attention to the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition. The coalition runs a “High Risk Mentoring Program and Idaho Drug Free Youth, a drug prevention program in the middle-school and high school, offering leadership activities, with youth members pledging to be drug-free and agreeing to be drug tested,” so it’s for a good cause.
