Switzer’s Canadian distributor and all-around good guy Travis Hill recently spent some time blasting across Canada’s Calabogie Motorsports Park in a Switzer P600 R35 GTR. Normally, something like that wouldn’t be news – but Travis isn’t your ordinary go-fast parts slinger. Travis, you see, is a professional racing driver and driving coach, with several Porsche Cup, Grand-Am, and ALMS series races under his fireproof nomex belt.
My favorite part of the video? Besides the heavily loaded tires and awesome, ripping exhaust note of the Switzer P600 (of course), I like that moment, about 1:20 in, when Travis calmly looks over at his frightened passenger as he mercilessly grips the R35 GTR’s “Oh S***!” handle and presses against the dashboard. Travis’ chuckle says it all. Race car drivers are a different breed.
